RCC

The Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) is a regional spectrum policy group representing countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the ITU.

The Member States of the group are Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. There are also observing Member States such as Latvia, Lithuania and Serbia.

There are several meetings per year to carry out the group’s objective. Three working groups have been formed within the Commission:

  • Working Group on preparations for the Radiocommunication Assembly and World Radiocommunication Conference (WG AR/WRC);
  • Working Group on Radio Frequency Spectrum Management (WG RFSM);
  • Working Group on Radio Broadcasting (WG RB)

The RCC Executive Committee is responsible for the practical organisation and implementation of these three groups.

RCC representatives, as well as the RCC Executive Committee as a coordinating body, take an active part in the world forums of the International Telecommunication Union. The body prepares common positions of the RCC communications administrations to strengthen the RCC’s position in the ITU.
