BEREC

| Dugie Standeford

BEREC stands for the Body of European Regulators of Electronic Communications. Under the European Electronic Communications Code, its job is to help create a competitive digital market for e-communications in the EU. Since its members come from the national regulatory authorities of each Member State, it serves as the authoritative voice of the telecom regulatory sector in Europe.

BEREC’s work informs regulatory policymaking by the EU institutions and national administrations. It consults and holds workshops on various issues, and publishes opinions, guidance and best practices on a wide range of electronic communications topics. BEREC responds to consultations by, for example, the European Commission.

The body also advises and cooperates with spectrum policy bodies such as the Radio Spectrum Policy Group and the ITU.
