A New Year upgrade for the PolicyTracker Spectrum Database
We’ve made some small but helpful functionality improvements to the PolicyTracker Spectrum Database (PSD). The latest version is now ready for our subscribers to use.
We have updated it to include the latest auction results globally as usual. In addition, we have done some upgrading.
Here’s what’s new:
1. Faster Updates to the Database
We’ve improved how we manage the back end of the PSD, so we’ll be able to make updates more quickly and efficiently.
2. Google Sheets Version is Now Always Up-to-Date
The Google Sheets version of the PSD will now update automatically. You can keep using the same link to see the most recent updates, without needing to access a new version every quarter.
There is a new sheet explaining the data format but the other visible tabs remain the same. This new functionality means there are additional hidden sheets which you can ignore.
3. Quarterly “Frozen” Excel Versions Still Available
For those who prefer a snapshot of the database as it was at a specific time, we’ll still send out Excel versions every three months (also available here). These won’t update automatically, so they’re ideal for archival purposes.
4. New Columns Added
We’ve added a new “6 GHz” column to the “countries” and “operators” sheets. If you have formulas linked to specific column numbers in the PSD, you may need to adjust them.
The PSD will still look and feel familiar, but these updates should make it even easier to get the information you need. Do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any questions about these changes. I can be reached at richardhaas(at)policytracker.com.
The PolicyTracker Spectrum Database provides information on spectrum allocation, assignment, and licence pricing in over 100 countries. It is available in Google Sheets and as an Excel document. Information from the database is also accessible on our interactive web-based database and our Data Explorer function.
