Notes

  1. Regional assignments are included in the graphs above but where an operator has been awarded multiple licences in the same band covering different parts of the country, this is counted only once. This is to create a better comparison with the majority of countries where national licences are used rather than, for example, individual licences for hundreds of small counties.
  2. Perpetual licences like those awarded in the USA and UK will appear in the”When issued” graph but not in the expiries graph
  3. Missing data for start dates or expiries are not counted in the total figures
  4. The number of licences issued in all mobile bands is available here
  5. The all assignments and current assignments sections of the database can be filtered to show the results for individual bands
